LAPD Shift Schedule

Shifts vary from Division to Division, so the entire department is never in the middle of a shift change, but the basic schedule is as follows:

Shift #1 - AM Watch - 11 pm to 7:30 am

Shift #2 - Day Watch - 7 am to 3:30 pm

Shift #3 - PM Watch - 3 pm to 11:30 pm

Shift #4 - Mid Day Watch - 10 am to 6:30 pm

Shift #5 - Mid PM Watch - 6 pm to 2:30 am

There's a thirty-minute overlap to allow for officers coming off shift to stay in the field handling calls while the officers coming on shift conduct Roll Call.
